Radar Detector to Detect Police Radar

Radar detector is an alerting device which is very helpful to people who like to drive very fast. Recently developed radar detectors are provided with early alerts to traffic and also help you avoid accidents. Radar detector can pick up the frequencies used by the police radar. Detectors that report the general direction from where the signal is coming are the best units.

Radar technology that can be interpreted as police radar is used in banks and department stores. Recently cars are equipped with low powered radar systems to avoid crash, aid in parking and it acts as blind-spot alerts as well.

Traffic radar measures the speed with the support of microwave pulse in laser technologies. In this technology, it sends out the series of pulses and using timings, the unit can detect the speed of a vehicle.

Some states and localities have passed laws to ban radar detector usages. In future this law will be counted as invalid. But for time being, the usage of radar detector may cause fine and equipment disablement.

All radar detectors leak a signal which can be detected. In some area where it is illegal to use radar detector, police use VG-2-in system to detect the user. These police detectors have a range anywhere from 0.5 mile to 2 miles.

VG-2 is a detector which also leaks a discernible signal, so radar detector has the capacity to detect leaks. Radar detector will shut itself down until VG-2 signal is received no longer. In this case the driver needs to be extra cautious as the radar detector’ receipt of radar signal is not possible.

City mode radar detector will reduce the number of false alerts. All radar detectors report the presence of police radar. Low end units display only signal strength with single audible beep. Muting is another feature in radar detector. In this mode visual and audio alerts are given for few seconds, followed by muting audio signal. Remote mounting and cordless radar detectors are also available now.
